Synopsis

A look inside Iran's recent presidential elections, from the perspective of a group of young campaigners and one candidate. First we follow a group of college women who open a campaign office to support reformist candidate Mohammad Khatami, who eventually wins the election. Then, we glimpse the life of 25-year-old Arezoo Bayat. A divorced single mother, Bayat holds down two jobs, while taking care of her ailing mother and daughter. Her life takes a turn for the worse when her landlord kicks her out and she loses her job. Deciding to take a stand against a society that won't rent an apartment to a single woman, Bayat runs for president.
