Synopsis
Born into poverty, Lazaro de Tormes spends his young life working to survive. After he's old enough to go out on his own, Lazaro seeks the job of town crier. But a bargain made with a corrupt archpriest lands Lazaro in court, where he must defend himself on charges that are not quite clear.

Based on the anonymous 16th century novel "Lazarillo de Tormes". The book was previously adapted for director Cesar Ardavin's "El lazarillo de Tormes" (Spain/1959).
