Synopsis
Yuka arrives at Seaside Hotel in a sleepy seaside resort. The season has passed. She is alone, her traveling companion couldn't make it, she says. The night-porter asks if she wants to go deep sea diving, but she doesn't, even though she's very bored. Night-porter Ken has his own problems. His less than steady girlfriend Mika has dumped him. He lives with a man who is confined to his bed. Is it his father? A relationship develops between Yuka and Ken. But Ken is withdrawn and surly and won't let Yuka into his life. On the beach, Yuka meets Mika and they get talking. Mika invites Yuka to come and live with her in her apartment. Her new lover hasn't turned up, so she has plenty of room. A situation of relative harmony emerges: Mika, Yuka and Ken watch TV together or swim in the sea. Until Tatsu, Ken's old schoolfriend drops by.
