Synopsis
At a Vienna hospital, newborns Karli and Heiri accidentally go home with the wrong families. One baby belongs to an Austrian couple; the other to a pair of Turkish guest workers. Ironically, Karli's smug father is a junior bureaucrat in the Department of Immigration and his mother the daughter of a senior minister. By the time the mix-up comes to light, the Turkish family has already been deported. The desperate Austrians set out to find the unsuspecting Turkish couple in their remote village. Convincing them of the mistake is another matter.
