Synopsis
The life story of Ukrainian national hero Roman Shukhevych. In 1943, as the Nazis invade the Ukraine, military officer Shukhevych leads the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in the fight to protect his homeland. In addition to the German army, Shukhevych and his men must battle Soviet partisans intent on murdering Ukrainian Jews. After a life spent fighting for justice in his country, Shukhevych killed himself in 1950 to avoid capture by the Soviet army.
