Synopsis

One evening Yumiko drowns in her bath. Her husband Tokiyo notices, but doesn't know what to do. He makes some coffee, drains the bath, carries Yumiko to the living-room couch and begs her to revive. Meanwhile Yumiko herself feels that she's dreaming- of being dead, of walking alone through scrubland. The next day, things are nearly normal. Tokiyo, hungover, says he had a nightmare. Yumiko prepares their meal. And so it goes... Soon something starts to smell bad in the apartment. Yumiko uses air fresheners to camouflage it and tells Tokiyo that she feels she's not herself any more. A male friend visits Tokiyo, and also seems to end up drowned in the bath. And so, Tokiyo comes to realize how beautiful Yumiko is- or was -and how he owes her everything.
