Synopsis
Jean is a 44 year old blue collar worker whose daughter Marva is a dedicated participant in singing contests. When the factory he works for cuts down on staff and fires him, he doesn't dare to break the news back home. Jean is frustrated and angry; he wants to take revenge, but doesn't know how until he accidentally meets the very well-known singer Debbie and kidnaps her. The disappearance of the artist brings her record sales to unprecedented levels, to the great joy of Michael, her manager. When Jean asks him for a ransom, he suggests a deal: he will make a star out of Marva if in return Jean will hide Debbie for a while. Things seem to go as planned, but quickly the public gets bored, and record sales plunge. So Michael plans to give people what they want: a blood curdling finale.
