Synopsis
Malcolm Kaye is the proverbial nice guy finishing last. Unlucky in love but rich in friendships, Malcolm is the future son-in-law any mother would love to have. He's devoted to everything in his life, including his low-end video store job in a funky Montreal neighbourhood. Being Mr. Nice Guy, however, can be taxing on a fellow. He plays piano for the elderly Mrs. Baron, offers a safe harbour for his abused neighbour Sharon and dutifully follows the advice of a seemingly wiser older brother Larry. But man, he's got needs too. So where's the fine woman to compliment this dream-boat of a sensitive guy? Enter Alicia, the beautiful Chilean refugee who finds solace at the Cafe Ole, located just down the street from Malcolm's video store. Finally, Malcolm's boiler is fully stoked and his life gains some much needed spice. He even learns to dance in a variety of positions. Nonetheless, fate rears its antagonistic head and the star-crossed lovers may soon be torn apart.
