Synopsis

Deeply affected by his grandfather's passing, filmmaker Frank Cole channels his emptiness and confusion into a single-minded quest to confront death head-on. This film is his personal account of that confrontation: a journey across the vast Sahara, via camel, alone. The inhospitable desert represents a place where life struggles under death's relentless glare, but for 11 months, Cole overcomes inescapable heat, desert bandits, civil and tribal wars, and, above all, loneliness. Often lost, he single-handedly films his physical and emotional trek, intimately drawing the viewer into his world.
