Synopsis

A detailing of the efforts of environmental activists to stop old-growth forest logging in the Northwest United States. In 1991, a fire set by an arsonist left the federally protected Warner Creek forest in Oregon heavily charred. Soon after, Congress issued a rider allowing this and similarly affected forrests to be logged. In reaction, a group of protestors camped out and blocked logging trucks in the threatened remains of the forest. After a number of confrontations and a strong campaign of civil disobedience, the White House issued a reprieve for the Warner Creek forest. However, similar environmental conflicts continue in other parts of the Pacific Northwest.
