Synopsis

There are two women in math teacher Paul's life: Luisa, his mistress, who teaches music, and Marianne, his wife, who studied biology. These three love each other or once loved each other. One day, Paul has a car accident, which radically changes his life. When he comes out of hospital, he has become indifferent to everything around him. His wife comes up with all kinds of strategies to make him feel again, whilst he, close to madness, protects himself by retreating into a shell which cuts him off from the rest of the world. In a way, this trio embodies three ways of "being" in a chaotic era. Paul lives in the abstraction of mathematical formulas; Marianne is more involved in observing life; and Luisa is the most vulnerable of them all...
