Synopsis

Taxi driver Yong-hyun moves into the crumbling Migum Apartments with his pet hamster, his Bruce Lee poster and his few other possessions. His new home is Room 504, where the previous tenant, a writer, died in a fire. He soon discovers that many of his neighbours had links with the dead man. One was his fiancee, another a rival novelist; the elderly barber downstairs knows something but won't tell. As Yong-hyun lurches into an affair with convenience-store worker Sun-yeong, who is battered by her husband, he begins to suspect that the building is haunted. By the dead writer? Or by ghosts from a gruesome incident many years earlier?
