Synopsis

A mullah (Moslem priest) called Majid arrives unexpectedly at a remote village. He begins to clear up a dilapidated old grave and decorate it as a shrine. The stranger then declares that the grave belongs to a famous holyman and berates the locals for not caring for it. The simple villagers have no clue of who this holyman was but as Majid begins to worship at the shrine they are gradually taken in by his story. Soon the whole village comes under his influence and while Majid takes a village woman for his wife the locals begin to shower the tomb with offerings of food and money. But as Majid falls for a second younger woman the myth shrouded around the holy grave eventually becomes unraveled.
