Synopsis
Mikey is a young woman wandering Vancouver over one increasingly tumultuous night of pain and discovery. Spending time with her boyfriend Adam in the late afternoon quickly turns from an orgasmic act of sexual love to a drunken violent argument. Mikey needs to be at her sister's birthday party and Adam is not welcome. Arriving late yet again, Mikey infuriates her family; they cannot comprehend why she's mixed up with Adam and insists on defending his abusive and destructive habits. But Mikey has never been similar to her two sisters. She has always been different. As the evening wears on she has further encounters with family, lecherous ex-lovers and the floor of a public bathroom. Finally, in a drug-induced haze she is able to strip away her protective disguise to expose a Mikey that has long been hiding. The next morning, Mikey and her mom discuss love and truth and reach a cathartic reconciliation through unsettling honesty.
