Synopsis

Rodrigo and Rocco are cousins who meet at their Grandpa's birthday party. Rodrigo is a preppie, a squarish young man; Rocco is hip and "alternative." Their enmity toward each other stems from their own fathers' constant bickering. When Rocco's dad announces his impending re-marriage, poor old Grandpa keels over and dies. In his will, he bequeaths his ancient Mercedes-Benz to Rodrigo, and to Rocco his old watch, declaring that his ashes must be scattered on Acapulco Bay. His sons and daughter fight over his wealth, but to everyone's surprise, a secret U.S. bank account is left to his old friend Felipe, who lives, coincidently, in Acapulco. The fathers' greed and quarrelling prompts Rocco to steal Rodrigo's Mercedes and drive to Acapulco with the ashes. Rodrigo eventually catches up with him and they arrive, penniless, at Felipe's restaurant. Before it is through, Rocco and Rodrigo's adventure will have given them a maturity their parents lack.
