Synopsis
Meet Aligermaa, an ambitious nine-year-old living on the Mongolian steppes. She lives to ride horses and dreams of competing in the grand horse race held at the nation's annual festival. Narrated by our young heroine and seen entirely through her eyes, this gorgeous film follows her real-life experiences in the year she is chosen to train for the competition and leaves home to study with a famous coach. Tension builds as the race draws near and Aligermaa is given permission to ride the fiery white stallion she adores. Will she be able to rein in her own wild spirit to compete professionally? This true drama unfolds against a backdrop of endless sky and includes wonderful details of a culture rarely seen on film.
