Synopsis

With the help of a fellow inmate, Prisoner KSC2-303 escapes from a maximum security prison. Together they run to a rendezvous point to meet a group of men who will lead them to a safer place. However, the strangers prove to be less than trustworthy: They arrive with a female hostage in tow and have intentions other than ensuring the prisoners' safety. After they kill his fellow escapee, the strangers force KSC2-303 to wait silently, a gun at his head, for their leader to come. Who is this leader? And why does his fellow captive, this enigmatic girl, seem so familiar? Have they met in another place? In another time, perhaps? KSC2-303 kills one of his captors, but the corpse won't stay dead. With the girl under his protection, he flees, shielded by the darkness of the forest. However, a closely guarded secret is soon revealed: There are 666 concealed portals connecting this world to the other side. Somewhere in Japan exists the four hundred forty-fourth portal: The forest of resurrection.
