Synopsis
In the verdant Brazilian rainforest, Taina, an eight-year-old Indian girl, saves a rare lizard monkey from the grasp of animal smugglers. When her grandfather dies, Taina and the monkey leave the jungle to escape the thieves. With the help of a hydroplane pilot, Taina meets Isabel, a biologist, and Joninho, her spoiled son. Initially, Taina and Joninho clash, but when Joninho runs away and follows Taina into the forest, the two children overcome cultural differences and team up to save the monkey and Isabel's research from unscrupulous scientists and the bungling smugglers.
