Synopsis

A behind-the-scenes look at the gritty world of women's downhill bike-racing. Some of the country's top female racers, including World Championship mountain biker Missy Giove, share the rhythm and rigor of training and racing competitively. The film features interviews, intimate moments from the women's daily lives and plenty of hard, fast downhill riding. Interviews with the founder of WOMBATS (Women's Mountain Bike & Tea Society), who had to retire from the sport due to breast cancer, provide insight into the discipline and dedication it takes for these athletes to compete. Watching these women hit the dirt, risking life and limb, leaves no doubt about women's place in competitive sports. No wonder the boys are running scared.
