Synopsis
In a small village on the south coast of Senegal, a plague of foggy weather has kept the fisherman ashore. Desperate to get back to work, the village sponsers a spiritual ceremony. But it is the mystic intervention of local Mbanick that saves the day. Somehow, Mbanick's quiet efforts make the fog vanish and he's declared a hero by the village. Jealous of Mbanick and envious of his relationship with the beautiful Maxoye, Yatma fights and kills him. Yatma then asks pregnant Maxoye's hand in marriage. She agrees to marry him, but only as punishment for what he's done, for Yatma will suffer everyday knowing he's hurt Maxoye and her child.
