Synopsis
Petra Kelly, a militant ecologist and pacifist of the 80s, is shot to death in her sleep by Gert Bastian, an ex-NATO general who became her companion and political ally. He then turns the gun on himself. Is this a murder or did Petra ask to be killed? What happened between the moment Gert's bullet entered her skull and the moment it reached her brain? Projected into the present by a flash-forward, Petra awakens in the glass-enclosed transit zone of an international airport. During her time in this modern purgatory, Petra confronts Gert and other important people in her life to grasp the meaning of that gunshot.
