Synopsis
In late 19th century Quebec, 20-year-old orphan Yvonne has been brought up in a repressive household by her strict aunt Helene. While Helene soon intends to ship her neice off to a convent, Yvonne begins to rebel, attempting to seduce local bachelor Charles. Charles falls in love with her, but he is already engaged to marry Yvonne's step-sister.
