An examination of the case surrounding murderer Joseph Paul Jernigan, who was executed by the state of Texas in 1993. After his death, Jernigan's body was donated to science, sliced into 2 millimeter sections, scanned and digitized, and posted on the internet for anatomy students as the "Visible Human Project." The issues around capital punishment and the American justice system this raises are debated through interviews with Jernigan's relatives, lawyers and the scientist in charge of the project.
