Synopsis
Luise is celebrating her 18th birthday on the superb yacht of her father, Peter Rehstahl, a businessman in raw materials; in his fifties, he is arrogant, sociable and foppish, much given to flashing his smile, his Ray-Bans and his gold watch. His son, Michael, joins the party with a couple who have not been invited. His friends, a banker employed by Rehstahl & Co. and his companion Valerie, who runs a gallery in London, make themselves at home, drinking champagne, bathing, water skiing on this fine Sunday afternoon. After much aimless conversation about this and that, the atmosphere slowly and almost imperceptibly changes. A latent conflict seems to poison the relationship between Rehstahl and his son, who argue about money. Angry, the latter mentions a relationship between his father and his sister Luise. The law of silence has been broken. Thus begins a long night, during which the two men clash on matters of truth and morality. An encounter that will leave no one unscathed.
