Synopsis

Oscar Wilde claimed that "Each man kills the thing he loves." This was true for Wilde's great love, the poet Lord Alfred "Bosie" Douglas, who sacrificed Wilde as a means to gain the recognition and love of his father. This film presents Bosie's controversial life and works, investigating his relationships with both his distant father and with Wilde, and speculating on his role in Wilde's trial and imprisonment for "the love that dare not speak its name." Most interestingly, we see Merlin Holland, Wilde's grandson, and Lord Gawain Douglas, Bosie's great nephew, in a public debate over the events leading up to Wilde's infamous trial.
