Synopsis

Cinco and Marinko are Croatian immigrants who decide to leave Berlin in 1991 and return to their home country after the war has ended. Knowing it will be difficult to reenter the country, Cinco devises a plan. He will pretend he is a corpse being shipped back to Croatia for burial, and Marinko will accompany his body with a false death certificate. As the pair make their way home, they encounter a number of nefarious characters, including organ thieves and the Yugoslavian secret police. When the two finally reach their destination, they are confrontated with the harsh realities of the war and its effect on the families and friends who stayed behind.
