Synopsis

Bill is happily married to Rose but his life falls apart when she abruptly leaves him to move in with Ray, Bill's best friend. The last thing Bill wants is to be fixed up on a date with his sister's friend Bernice. Obsessed with Rose, Bill devastates Bernice by calling her superficial and even a little pathetic. Back in his apartment, Bill picks up right where he left off: sitting alone, fantasizing about Rose. But then Bill is confronted by the last thing he exepects or needs: Bernice. At gun point, Bernice takes Bill on a wild ride that includes the apparent robbery of a dress store, a dinner presided over by Bernice's dying grandmother and finally a comic shootout involving Bill, Bernice, Ray and Rose.
