Synopsis

American adventurer Randall and his girlfriend, Cecile, are hired to drive an SUV into the Sahara desert. Per Cecile's insistance, they pick up a couple of Japanese hitchhikers along the way, and Randall resents their intrusion until he discovers that one of them is terminally ill. Armed with high-tech gadgetry and tourist hubris, Cecile and Randall opt to take the last leg of the journey alone, though they are forced to hire a guide when they soon lose their way. Randall's arrogance has tragic consequences when he and Cecile finally end up stranded in the middle of the desert, without food, water, or means of communication.
