Synopsis
The story of three families as seen through their summer holidays. They meet in 1990, and reunite 10 years later to complete a game started that first year, in which everyone wrote down their secret wishes for the year 2000. One by one, they read their letters, and we discover what distances the readers from one another - and from themselves. Micheline leaves Robert, Paul loses his job, Daniel falls in love with Carole, Colette almost drowns, Maddalena is pregnant, Mr. Bertini goes bankrupt, and Marianne disappears forever on vacation.
