Synopsis
The Anarchists are a tight-knit group of revolutionaries, determined to overthrow Japan's imperialistic military presence in 1924 Shanghai. Even though they are outnumbered and out-gunned, their passion drives them against the odds and into a hurricane of blood. Their leader is a long-time revolutionary who deals with his foes mercilessly, while the others follow diligently, although diverted by such troubles as opium addiction and ethical quandaries. They work toward the same goal--societal anarchy--while trying to avoid the pitfalls of organized crime, socialism, defective weapons, betrayal and falling in love. Even during brutal fighting, their common struggle is at the forefront--also felt in their quiet romanticism, creating an atmosphere of worrisome anticipation.
