Synopsis
A look at the World Trade Organization's first meeting on U.S. soil in Seattle which took place November 29 through December 3, 1999. Dubbed by some in the media as "The Battle in Seattle," the event captured international headlines but did not answer key questions about what was at stake. The documentary looks at the protests, rallies, marches, street actions, and press converences in an attempt to give a balanced overview of the issues facing civil society as global trade policy effects environment, food and agriculture, labor, human rights and even democracy around the world.
