Synopsis
Madeleine is a seamstress at a slowly failing dressmaker's shop. Being new to the city, she has no friends and much of her time is spent caring for her ill mother and reading astrology and folktales. When men do enter her life, she seems to always come up short. Thomas, a successful draughtsman wants to have children, but she can't. The cute traveling saleman she scores a "date" with ends up taking her home to dinner with his wife and children. But Madeleine's horoscope tells her she will find true love, and with that firm belief she carries on...
