Synopsis
Venus lives with her husband Max and her two children Sally and Thorsten on a farm in Brandenburg. She is a writer just about to start work on a new novel. She moves to Berlin, where her publisher has rented her an extravagant-looking glasshouse with a view of the whole city. Venus' writing process is just as transparent as her glass pent-house because she's writing her novel live on the internet. A webcam observes her as she sets to work. Venus wanders about the city where she meets a young man named Fabrizio and starts an affair with him. By chance, Thorsten puts an abrupt end to his mother's escapades when he discovers her one day on the internet - not at her desk, but in bed with another man. Horrified, Max rushes off to Berlin and has it out with his wife. Venus realises that she does not want to leave Max. She shatters the webcam in the glasshouse and throws herself into her work in earnest. She finishes her novel and returns to the farm, where she is welcomed back with a big celebration.
