Synopsis
By the end of the 1930's, Shanghai, because of it ex-territorial status, became the last possible haven for many European Jews. The film traces the lives of several Germans, Austrians, and Russians whose paths crossed in wartime China. Interviews, photographs, and documents combined with contemporary images of the Far East's largest metropolis provide an account of historic exile.
