Synopsis

Eminent lesbian poet Adrienne Rich, and lesbian filmmaker and poet Dionne Brand trace their entry into the world of social change and social justice from their different origins. This work delicately addresses the ever-growing number of burnt-out feminists looking for alternatives tos alternatives. They take an admiring look at women who moved and inspired them and tell us what they did with that inspiration. We are shown brutal realities of the world we live in--wars, invasions, Grenada, Chiapas, Cuba--and gain full realization of what it does to women, especially those who oppose the system. Conversation and storytelling are fused with Rich's and Brand's printed works.
