Synopsis

Rene Kermadek is the film's "Homer" who has lost his sight and now must write from visual memory producing work characterized by a cruel wit and dour life perspective. His only real link to the world is Sibilla, a former student whom he's married. He comes to believe she is unfaithful with the matador Manuel Fernandez. In fact, she has always been true to Rene but is unable to convince him of her devotion. Ultimately, he feels compelled to betray her and quietly end his life by swallowing cyanide.
