Synopsis
Tana is a dancer who comes from a remote Chinese village but has moved on and become successful. She cannot forget the trauma of her rural childhood, though: both her parents died when she was young, her mother in childbirth. She describes the life and ritual of the village through dance, in particular copying the tribal chief who led ceremonial dances such as fertility rites. This obssession makes her ill and makes it hard for her to sutain relationships.
