Synopsis
Set in the working-class suburb of Paisley, near Glasgow, during 1957, the film follows the high and low points in the lives of a group of fledgling artists who work in a "slab room" and grind colors for the paint used by carpet designers. Phil dreams of going to art school, Spanky wants to go to America, and Hector dreams of Lucille who offers her affections to all the boys while dreaming of a singing career.
