Synopsis
The shocking history of leprosy in America. For years, sufferers were handcuffed, taken to special hospitals behind barbed wire, and lost their constitutional rights. Often they were simply forgotten by family and friends. The stigma of leprosy caused this appalling treatment, but also mobilized some sufferers to transform their prisons into homes.
