Synopsis
A former jazz musician, on the skids and living with the homeless occupying the dried out riverbeds of Southern California, falls ill due to the acid drip from the batteries he collects for money. Over a 24-hour period this alternative community rallies to his support, as a yuppie, whose car has failed, gets drawn into the environment and slowly sees the human faces of the homeless.
