Synopsis

A discussion about the abusive role U.S. military presence has played in the lives of Korean women--most of whom are jobless, working class, and thusly are already at an economic disadvantage. Their desperate financial situations allow these women to be compromised, tricked, or even kidnapped into sexual servitude while providing "services" for American troops still stationed in South Korea. These "sanctioned brothels" are actually controlled by government authorities who perceive the troops' "morale issue" as being readily resolved by the soldiers having easy access to sex--that's where the "comfort" women come in.
