Synopsis

A dark comedy that begins with Jacques Laniel watching helplessly as his partner Thomas is blown away by drive-by killers. The murder throws Laniel into a personal crisis to the point that he quits the police force and becomes a private eye. He soon stumbles across another murder; that of literature prof and writer Zachary Osborne. Osborne, it turns out, was involved in real estate speculation and had just made alot of money on the sale of a halfway house called the Haven of the Monsters. Virtually every tenent of the Haven is a convicted murderer and Laniel believes this killing and the shooting of Thomas are related. Laniel is now in competition with the police, hoping to find the killer of his partner before they do.
