Synopsis

Told with the narrative texture and emotional involvement of a dramatic feature, a documentation of everyday hardship and sacrifice of an unsung hero: In a suburb of Athens, Josephine, a migrant worker, gives maternal care to two-year-old Isidora while the child's real mother is in Paris. Josephine's good salary--which goes a long way in Sri Lanka--enables her to provide for the children and family she has left behind. After eight years, Josephine can finally visit her own family. Laden with presents, she must now confront her three grown-up children who know nothing of their mother apart from bank drafts, letters and gifts.
