Synopsis
The inhabitants of the village San Lorenzo have mixed emotions for newcomer Mario Rojas, an engineer sent to build a bridge through the deserted mining town. To some he represents prosperity, modernization, and hope. Others view him as a threat -- mostly because they have a history of scandal and corruption to hide. When he begins to help an Indian woman find her missing father, some influential villagers hinder his investigation, and he starts to suspect that murder is involved.
