Synopsis
This thriller from South Africa is based on the true story of white policeman in a special squad of the forer government's police force given the undercover assignment of posing as an ANC supporter in order to assassinate one f its leaders. Ironically, by the time the brutish but not unintelligent Fourie comes close to achieving his gola, Nelson Mandela is freed from prison and Fourie's elite unit disbanded. Ultimately, the embittered and increasingly deranged undercover man finds himself abandoned in his own heart of darkness, left to his own devices. At the core of this hightly charged film is a human dilemma--for years a man fights passionately for a cause, enduring tremendous stress and degradation, only to see the political situation change so dramatically that the struggle becomes null and void.
