Synopsis
A black British woman named Jessie returns to Trinidad to bury her father, a lawyer and politician. The journey sparks long-repressed memories of her childhood. After the funeral, Jessie receives a phone call from her mother, whom she believes had abandoned her when she was a child. Jessie agrees to a meeting; her mother tells her stories of their past, and the revelations sparked by the visit transform both their lives.
