Synopsis
Anna Bracka is an lawyer who has just been offered a bribe to lose a case. Unfortunately, the offer comes from her lover who, after she refuses, rapes her. Distraught, she drives off into the rainy night, only to nearly run over a man in the road who's holding a gun. It turns out the guy, Witek, has lost his memory, so she puts him in an abandoned housing project once used by invading Russian troops. When his memory starts to return, Witek reveals that the gun once belonged to Jan Szymanski--who happens to be Anna's father. Anna confronts her father who says that the man became his friend during the Communist take-over in 1949. Witek was an idealist who, while imprisoned, refused to give up his ideals of a free society. Anna and Witek seemed destined for one another. They feel like they are soulmates, separated by 50 years.
