Synopsis
When an aging ventriloquist develops throat cancer, he trains his assistant Johnny to take his place. Johnny modernizes the act and is soon a hit but finds himself involved with devious politicos fighting an election. His girlfriend, Rosemary, becomes frustrated because Johnny is also spending too much time talking to the dummy "Urvashi" than to her. When Johnny is finally called upon to put forth the political line in his act, he is unable to give Urvashi a voice.
