Frough is a middle-aged documentary filmmaker who lives with her teenage son Mani. She is thinking of finding another man, but Mani sees her only as a mother, and himself as the man of the house. Meanwhile, Frough is making a TV documentary on the topic of the perfect mother, and her interviewees, like herself, are aware of the differences between social models of maternity and their own experiences.
