Synopsis
Set in the 1950s, a young West Indian woman takes destiny into her own hands when she embarks on a trans-Atlantic cruise liner bound for England. On board she meets a charismatic Scottish photographer who is not all or indeed anything he seems, a highly regarded art historian with a missing painting and a mysterious past, and two missionaries who share a hidden secret. As she unravels the tangle of lies and deceptions surrounding these strangers, the young woman learns new truths about herself and changes the fates of those around her.
